Blogging

Having set up my blog I was fairly cynical about them as I had never written one before, don't like to keep a diary, and I know that blogs tend to have a much more personal touch than newspapers or articles. However having read a variety of blogs from all over the world I now appreciate their value a bit more. I hadn't previously considered blogs in terms of political commentary and thought that they were usually written by people inanely commenting on their lives, but I now see that they can give valuable insight into political situations as they are written first hand, as things are happenning and in the voice of someone actually affected by the situation.
I found a particularly good blog written by a soldier in Afghanistan, written in his own words, which made it much easier to relate to what he was saying and appreciate the situation.
The class I will be working woth for SBT1 have recently set up their own class blog, so I will be interested to see what they write, and how they respond to writing it, and whether or not it improves their ICT knowledge and confidence.

QTS

I've just done some more practice tests for the ICT QTS skills test and passed two in a row so feeling a bit more confident about them now. I think I probably had the majority of knowledge required I just wasn't used to the format and time restrictions.Hopefully I'll do ok in the actual test....

a worrying start

I think that of the core subjects taught in primary schools, ICT is probably my weakest subject which worries me because there is so much emphasis on it now. I have just done a couple of practice tests for the QTS skills test....and failed miserably. I think I've got a lot of work to do if I am going to get up to and beyond the required standard.

first blog.....

This is my first experience of blogging. I have never tried writing a blog before because I don't keep a diary, also I am dubious as to who is actually interested in what I have to say about ICT....
But I am looking forward to maintaining this blog as there are areas of ICT which I am not very confident in, and I am hoping that this blog will chart my progress and show my improvement and growing confidence. Fingers crossed.
